Rachael & James Wedding Cupcake Tower

Hot Pink & White Cupcake Tower
With Giant Cupcake

The Giant Cupcake is chocolate/vanilla layer cake,
which is hand carved to match the small cupcakes shape,
decorated in hot pink and white with co-ordinating butterflies
(to match the invitations)
to look like they are in flight over the cake.

The cupcakes are Vanilla (pink cases)
Chocolate (silver cases)
decorated each with three open roses on top.

I LOVE the look of these,
........even my husband said they they are
his favourite wedding cupcakes I have made!
..................

This Cupcake Tower was ordered to celebrate the
marriage of Rachael & James at their
evening reception tonight (Friday 27th May 2011)

The couples wedding day was back on March 4th 2011 in beautiful Mexico
and they kindly sent me a photo of them with family & friends
looking gorgeous on the beach!
...........and I know you'll agree that Rachael looks absolutely stunning!

The newly weds then went on to Jamaica for their honeymoon!

Rachael brought her mother along to the consultation(s)
to help on design & decision making
and I couldn't have asked for nicer people to work with!

"Congratulation's James & Rachael"
I wish you all the happiness!

Ivory & Gold Bas-relief Wedding Cake

Ivory & Gold Bas-relief Wedding Cake

I loved making this cake!

I was inspired by Maggie Austin Cake,
after seeing her beautiful Bas-relief work on her cakes on facebook,
I really wanted to give it a try!
Granted....... it's nowhere as amazing as her gorgeous creations
but I like it and boy it was pretty time consuming too!
but now that I've made up a way of doing it myself,
with a little more practice and a few more detailed additions
the next cake should be much better!......well lets hope so!

"Daphne" Wedding cake

"Daphne" 3 tier Wedding Cake
with middle tier in graded green blossoms.
The gentle graded colours give this cake a pretty, delicate look and would look beautiful no matter what the colour scheme! The top and bottom tiers have a ribbon trim
with royal iced dots and scattered blossoms.

Abbie & Dom's Wedding Tower

A Wedding Cupcake Tower
for a lovely couple who got married yesterday! The weather was lovely and sunny
and the reception was held on the waterfront in Christchurch
at www.thejetty.co.uk
just beautiful!
Teal and White is a beautiful colour combination
and when decorated with daisies, seashells & pearls....perfect!
they wanted a splash of orange in there somewhere,
so I added orange daisy centres.
The cupcakes were Vanilla & creamy Buttercream,
Rich Chocolate & Dark Chocolate Ganache,
The top cake is a 6" Rich & Boozy Fruit cake
decorated to match the cupcakes. I love this design,
simple daisies and shells look so gorgeous together
.........and so fresh!

Hydrangea Cupcakes

Some quick cupcakes just to show off
my beautiful new Hydrangea cutters!
I ordered these the end of last week from Italy,
from a very talented friend of mine Toni (Le Torte di Toni)
and they arrived today,
pretty good delivery time too hey!
Toni is an amazing young lady,
she won a TV Cookery competition
(which was quite a tough, long and what I would believe
an emotional experience!)
This show was Italy's equivalent to Masterchef!
Please note that she has only lived in Italy for about 10 years
as she is originallyy from Australia
So she must be darn good!!!
Toni won her own TV series (along with her beautiful daughter)
making and decorating cakes!
Just how amazing is that!!!
......
Well, I just had to get the flowerpaste out and try them out!
I am sure you will agree they are beautiful flowers!!!
xXx

Flower Encased Cameo Wedding Cake

This simple designed cake would look fabulous at any
Vintage Styled Wedding,
big or small!
Each tier has a border of sugar pearls highlighted with lustre
and the top tier has a triple layer blossom
in pistachio green (a favourite of mine)
with a slight ruffle effect
and a cameo as the centre.

SAFARI BIRTHDAY CAKE

Last weekends Birthday cake.
A returning customer asked for a number 5 cake for their son
in the theme of "Safari"
to go with the tableware they are having at his party!
(I love returning customers! such a nice feeling that they liked the last cake so much they order again!)
Don't get me wrong! number cakes are fine,
but they can look a little boring at times,
so I wanted to make this fun
..........and have got to say I really loved making it.
I have totally changed my mind about them now
and can't wait for someone to order another!

This cake was a triple layer chocolate cake
filled and coated with chocolate ganache
covered & decorated with fondant pieces
and hand modeled sugar tree, monkey, snake and crocodile!
All sat on a 14" x 16" cake board.

Flute & Piano Inspired Giant Cupcake

This was Thursday's Birthday cake order
for a musically talented young lady turning 18.

Her mother asked for a cake in the design of a giant cupcake,
Pink, with influence from the instruments she plays,
so I designed this!
......everything here is edible,
(except for the three small wires at the end of the flute)
even the flute is sugar (flowerpaste)
I am really very pleased with the results
and more importantly the Birthday girl and her mother loved it!

The cake itself is Lemon flavour.

Military Cupcakes for "25 Regt."

Another Military order for this week!
After making the Victoria Cross Cupcakes a while ago,
I was asked if I could make some cupcakes with the Regements logo ontop
for a function they will be having tonight!
So these little shield toppers were all handmade out of sugar,
using tiny templates cut by myself
the shields, oak leaves, 25,
and loads of tiny acorns
........they took, what feels like forever to make
but the results were worth it...I think!
The cupcakes were vanilla & chocolate flavours.

Chocolate Bar Cake

A last minute order.....
I was asked to recreate the chocolate bar cake I made a while back
for a big chocolate fan!
there isn't many girls I know that
doesn't drool at the sight of a nice bar of chocolate,
me included!
infact, whilst making this last night
I had to eat some dairy milk
......you know for research purposes LOL!!!

Well I know I don't have to mention what flavour cake this is!
as you know anything other than chocolate would just be wrong!

Thanks for looking!

"Toni" Wedding Cake

This Wedding cake got picked up for collection
and taken all the way to Scotland
......a good 8 hour's drive.
........
I was to include Calla Lilies, Roses and Thistles,
the bride to be and her mother loved my Poppy Wedding Cake
I made a while back,
so I was to incorporate some of those details.
The Middle tier was inspired from one of
Lindy Smith's cakes from the book
"To Inspire and Desire"

Top & bottom Tier was chocolate cake and the middle was vanilla.

Let's hope they all enjoyed it
As Maria, Toni's Mum Loved it when she came to collect it.

"Something New, Old & Rejected!"

Something new.....camera
something old....display cake
& something rejected.....sugar rose!

I have been dropping ridiculously large hints to my husband
about getting a new camera for my Birthday,
of which I might add is in July!
I told him I REALLY needed it before as I am trying to
get a portfolio together for my clients to view.
My old camera.......well camera phone was dying
and the quality wasn't good enough for the making of
a book/portfolio!
So my lovely hubby surprised me with one.
I am such a happy bunny
and feel slightly like a spoilt child!
I won't be asking for anything else for quite some time!
...........although I have a lens on my wish list
and I think I will be buying that one myself! LOL!!!!

I hope I don't bore you all too much with
lots of new photos!
I still  need to learn about all the settings
as the centre of the rose isn't quite there
but extremely happy with the improved results!

Quick Medic Cupcakes

Some quick cupcakes made for my husband
to take into work
to share with the guy's.
I was going to make some with other
medical equipment on but just didn't have the time
so Swirls, red crosses and plasters had to do!
He was very happy with them
....and to be honest, I don't think he'd dare to complain! LOL!!!!

Rose Swirl Cupcakes

Some very last minuter simple cupcakes
I made yesterday morning.
Rich Chocolate cupcakes and
whipped ganache rose swirls
decorated with a single small blossom

LILAC FREESIA WEDDING CUPCAKE

I did a wedding consultation/tasting yesterday
giving the couple 3 flower choices
and as they never chose this one I thought I would share it with you!
such a delicate looking flower!
The cupcake is my moist chocolate recipe
with swirls of chocolate ganache.
They insisted that the cupcakes were chocolate
they were very pleased at the tasting
and booked there and then!
Such a satisfying feeling to watch people really enjoying my cakes!
You will see which one's they decided to order
later in the year after their wedding day!
Thank's for stopping by!
