Bird House Cake

This cake was my donation to Will's School Summer Fayre to be put in the raffle...........a little sad to see it go :o( but very pleased to see people like it so much..... I had alot of compliments!

Farewell Suitcase Cake

A Farewell Cake in the form of a suitcase,

which I thought was Apt. as our friends and neighbours

are moving away to Ireland.

I couldn't have asked for better neighbours,

someone to laugh, cry and drink with!!! :o)

measuring 9 x 7 inches and 2.5 inch deep

on a cake board 14 x 12 inches

Dinner Cupcakes

We have dinner guests tonight and that is a perfect excuse for cupcakes!!!!

I had no idea what design I was going to do,

 so made a few flowers last night....

which I might add didn't like them much then,

 and just went with the flow today,

and now quite like them,

although the green is slightly more gentle than it looks here.

The flowers are cut with the Fantasy Flower Cutter

and placed on a light sage green, scored, circle of fondant,

which look a little like daisies on a lawn.....well I think so!!:o)

"A Paisley Dream" Wedding Cake

I have had this image for a Wedding Cake for ages....

since doing the paisley cupcakes way back,

I just LOVE paisley so much!

I then found a cake designed by my favourite Cake Artist/Designer, Shinmin Li,

(her work is out of this world)

it was what I was sort of thinking,

but with delicate flowers added for a more feminine feel

(and alot more detail and skill I might add)

so I can't take all the credit for the design.

But I love this and feel it is a quite typical style of what I do.

3 tiered Dummy Cake covered in fondant with a hint of peach,

decorated with blossoms and piping in the same colour.

Paisley shapes were handcut, dusted and piped.

Applique Dog Rose Wedding Cake

I say cake, but this is a dummy cake....my first actually.

 I did think it would be easier to work with,

but it is so light and a little awkward, how you girls do them so well is beyond me!

I have had this image in my head for ages now

and though I had better get and put it to cake (as such) before it goes!

............I am pretty pleased with how it looks, even though my piping needs more practice!

Now to work on the other!!!

Camouflage Boobs Cake

This turned out a little more "Perky" than I intended,

but the customer was very happy with it,

I told her to think of it as getting extra cake!! lol!

I have noticed that my photostream is starting to look like my "old" photostream,

with Wall-E and now this......but I am not complaining!

Vanilla Sponge Cake with buttercream sandwiched and covered,

then covered in skintone fondant & Camouflage fondant.

WALL-E #2

I was asked to make WALL-E again,

I really think it is more difficult the second time around!

still enjoyed it all the same and so worth it when you see

the faces of the customers! :o)

This is a Chocolate, Vanilla layer cake

with buttercream...yum!

The wheels and Eyes are made from polystyrene

and covered in fondant.

Everything on this was handcut.....that's why I never went to bed last night

just worked all through the night.......soooo tired but glad I did!

Wedding Anniversary Cupcakes

After doing the Wedding Cupcakes this last weekend,

the Florist asked if she could order a Cupcake Gift Box

for her Wedding Anniversary in any design I wanted,

so I thought of these heart ones

(like I did quite a bit back, but with silver trim)

and when she came to collect them...........she loved them!

Teal & White Wedding Cupcakes & Cookies

This was my first Wedding order.....well, it was for the "Sweets Table"

at the Evening Reception, but still a Wedding order all the same!

and so nice to be broken into this field gently.

The Bride to be came along with her parents (who were all very lovely) to see samples

of what I could do for her and to my surprise she wanted

all the designs and for two weeks later.....I was very excited!!!!!

Absolutely love the colours Teal & White,

Just wish I was able to get some photo's of them all set up together!

But I am very happy with how they all turned out....hope

everyone liked them as much as I did!

Gosport Freedom Parade Cake

This 3 tier cake was made for the Gosport Freedom Parade.

Where all the locals could welcome the Troops of 33 field Hospital

home from Afghanistan.

It was a really great day, so many people were there to show their appreciation.

The cake:

Bottom tier...Rich Chocolate covered in Khaki fondant with fondant Corp's Badges

Middle Tier...Zesty Lemon covered with Camouflage style fondant

Top Tier...Vanilla covered with Khaki coloured fondant

Topped with a hand cut fondant "33 Field Hospital Shield"

Carp Cake #2

I was asked to make a cake for a lady who wanted to use it for "Guess the weight of the cake" at a Macmillan Fundraiser, where there will be a fishing compitition as a main event and wanted it to tie in with that.........so seeing I already did a fish cake the other week I wanted to do something a little different this time and opted for a more 3D one. The cake was being picked up at 6pm on Thursday and being taken to Brighton.

This I might add is my second attempt........I baked the cake(s) and and left them to settle for a day as always and then carved it, filled it, dowelled it, covered it with fondant, marked it with the scales.............then it broke in half ARHHHHHHHHH!!!! and it broke in a way I couldn't repair it!!!! so I, nearly in tears put the mixer on and started baking all over again, meanwhile my hubby is off to the shops buying more ingredients to make more (as this was a late order anyway) let the cakes go cold and start all over again..........and I don't like carving really fresh cake as it doesn't cut so smooth, but it worked thank god and finally finished this at 4.30 in the morning...........I was so tired, 2.5 hours sleep and up again!

I hope they like it after all that! lol! the guy who picked it up thought it was fantastic so...fingers crossed!

Embossed With Bloom

These were made as tasters for a meeting

and apparently went down very well.

My hubby told me that the Mayor took a few!

well I did make more than enough and I think

if anyone wanted more than one

that is a very positive thing!!! :o)

Carp Cake

I was asked to make a cake by the lady who had the horse cake I did a while back,

this time for her Husband's 60th Birthday.

She wanted something related to fishing as this was his interest and he loves Carp fishing.....

so as I haven't made a fish cake before I was very keen to do this.

This was the most theraputic work I have ever done,

I so hope I get to make another fish cake in the near future.

England Rugby Shirt Cake

A handcarved cake, shaped into a rugby shirt

for a friends 40th.

The cake is Vanilla Sponge with rosewater buttercream,

covered with white fondant

and decorated with handcut fondant logo's....

.....the Rose took FOREVER!.....but so worth it!

The number 40 was made with a fondant/tylopur mix in white

with a red trim to resemble the England flag.
